Graduate Students
I am interested in hearing from motivated students interested in graduate studies.  Send me an email with your specific interests, qualifications, and CV or resume.
I currently have an opening for a PhD student to begin January 2026 in Population Modeling & Conservation of New England cottontail. Check out the position description here.
I will also have an opening for a Masters or PhD student in Fall 2026 to study tidal marsh bird conservation.
Contact me if you're interested!  Students with prior avian research experiences particularly encouraged (but not required).

Students interested in graduate studies at UNH can find out more information here.
I am a member of several graduate programs:  Masters in Wildlife and Conservation Biology, PhD in Natural Resources and Earth System Sciences, and Masters and PhD in Genetics. I am also affiliated with the Marine School.

Undergraduate Students
There are often research opportunities in the lab and sometimes the field for enthusiastic, organized, and hard-working undergraduates!  These opportunities may be for credit (INCO 590 or 790), independent study, capstone or honors thesis research.  Occasionally paid opportunities exist, especially for work study students. If you are interested in research, I encourage you to check out the UNH Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program website, and to consider a future application for a URA or SURF award.
